We spotted a post this morning on one of the UK's most popular parenting websites. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at this, judge for yourselves:
"[My friends] have rented a massive house on the beach for the whole two weeks, with another family. Because the house is big, they have taken their Filipina cleaning lady with them.
Why oh why do people like having holidays in (a) other people's horrible furniture and possessions (b) having a cleaner living with them the whole time. It's quite beyond me."
Is this what some people really think about holiday rentals as an alternative to hotel accommodation?
To give some context, Mumsnet is well known in the UK and has a very vocal membership. They regularly get airtime on various subjects and were courted by politicians in the recent general election. They also have a reputation for appealing to ladies a little higher up the food chain. Think Fulham or Chelsea - think Yummy Mummy.
If you're a rental owner, we'd love to see your comments in response to this post (once you've finished laughing/crying).
